Frequently asked questions

A mother’s wellbeing is crucial to the health of future generations, which is why supporting her during the fourth trimester is just as important as during pre-conception and pregnancy.

Friends and family can support a new mother by preparing nourishing meals, helping with household chores, offering to babysit older children, and providing emotional support. Our recipe gift cards are a great way to coordinate a postpartum meal train. Our recipe book is a perfect gift for a new mum for her baby shower or mother’s blessing.

The recipe book includes 30 nourishing recipes specifically designed for postpartum care. Each recipe comes with a gift card, providing practical tips and encouraging friends and family to prepare meals for the new mother.

Our recipes are designed to be adaptable for various dietary preferences. We include options and suggestions for modifications to suit vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets. Our One Handed Bites for Postpartum and Beyond recipe ebook has a very limited range of Vegan recipes.

Absolutely! Our recipe book makes a thoughtful and practical gift for new mothers. The included gift cards make a wonderful activity at a baby shower or mother’s blessing. We can also send a gift wrapped copy and hand written card to a mama for you. You can purchase a copy as a gift, be sure to leave a note at checkout.

Unfortunately we do not offer a digital version of the Village for Mama Book. This is because we see it as more of a resource than a recipe book and the recipe cards and door sign do not translate to a digital version.

Village for Mama is designed for new mothers, second-time mums, more time mums, doulas, midwives, and anyone in the motherhood care sphere. Our resources are meant to help anyone looking to support new mothers during the crucial fourth trimester.

1 review for Village For Mama Book

  1. Emily

This is my go-to postpartum recipe book, or more like anytime recipe book. The meals are delicious, great to prep ahead and freeze and they’re so nourishing. But to call this a recipe book would be underselling it. As well as the lovely recipes the book includes useful prompts and information to help you in planning for a positive and supported post-partum experience. Out of all the recipe books I own, this would be the one I have tried the most recipes from and return to time and time again. My youngest is 9 months and we would have a VFM recipe at least once a week still. Bonus, so many of the meals are so great to share with little ones. Love love love everything about this book (and cards)!
