“Village for Mama is the most beautiful book dedicated to just that – shifting the mindset onto looking after the new mama, nourishing her, supporting her and holding space for her.”
When a baby is born, so is the mother. Unfortunately, the new mother's needs are often forgotten about, with all attention directed to the baby - but this way of thinking needs a mindshift, because if the mother's needs are neglected, well the whole *ship* goes down too! Village for Mama is the most beautiful book dedicated to just that - shifting the mindset onto looking after the new mama, nourishing her, supporting her and holding space for her. This book is filled with the most beautiful, nourishing recipes - designed specifically for the fourth trimester (and beyond) to help fuel and nurture new mothers in this special time. The postpartum meal cards are the BEST idea to give to family and friends ahead of the birth, who will want to help but just might not be sure how. I highly recommend this gorgeous book to all new mamas, it takes a village as they say, and this book will help you to cultivate and empower yours.'

“Leila’s work encapsulates this framework and offers userful and heart-felt ways of enhancing these principles.”
Leila’s work is not only beautiful, it also acknowledges the complex landscape of the postpartum time and presents support and solutions in an inspiring and accessible way. My main motto for maternal recovery in the postpartum time is: Deep Rest for 1 month, Deep support for 100 days and Priority on Sleep for 1 year. Leila’s work encapsulates this framework and offers userful and heart-felt ways of enhancing these principles.

Doula clients' experiences
“The book is also wonderful so I highly recommend that too!“
Hiring Leila was the absolute best decision I could have made for myself and my family over this postpartum period. I truly looked forward to her visits, and the nourishment and care I received has helped me come through my early postpartum period feeling empowered, energised, happy and healthy - a complete 180 from my first postpartum without her! I'm also feeling so inspired to continue cooking the types of beautiful healthy meals Leila has provided - they were all so delicious! I have already recommended Leila to all my pregnant friends and will continue to shout her praises to anyone who will listen! Lastly, the book is also wonderful so I highly recommend that too!

“I would like to thank you from my ever expanding heart for being who you are and putting your wonderful creations out in the world for the benefit of humanity and our human family. You have gifted me so much without even knowing. I remember seeing posts on Facebook that put voice and words to exactly what I was going through and felt huge waves of gratitude and love and awe towards you. It has been such a healing time. With an ever growing amount of gratitude to you, Warmly”

“I first discovered your recipe book and Instagram account years before becoming a Mama myself. I recall feeling an inner Yes! and wanted to immediately send it to every single Mama friend I knew. So seldom had I come across that kind of support and message for bringing your people together, let alone a focus on beyond birth. Then, I got sent some of your delicious cookies. Baked and packaged in an express post bundle soon after the arrival of my little person. And after a massive few months (global move, birth, need I say more). Honestly I didn’t even need to eat them to feel the immense wave of love and support coming from that container. It may seem like a simple principle to ‘gather your village’ yet the more I talk to Mamas the more I realise how challenging this is in practice, especially when you’re ‘in the thick of it”

“I really believe that your birth story will pave the way twin births can be done in Australia as it will give women confidence in their ability to birth how they choose based on their own research and decisions not how the hospital policies decide. I will forever be grateful for you for sharing your experience so that other twin mums can also have a wonderful birthing experience.”
