A collection of my 10 favourite breastfeeding essentials and 3 wonderful breastfeeding education resources for World Breastfeeding Week 2024.
1.Hydration is essential for breastfeeding and filtered water is a non negotiable for me. I absolutely love my Kyn & Folk Water Filter with the UltraCeram Fluoride Removal Filter.
2. We need more than water to keep hydrated so I love the electrolyte rich hydration powder from Franjos Kitchen. They have two delicious flavours and it helps make drinking water delicious.
3. Intelligent Health Breastfeeding Vitality is a wholefood vitamin and superfood blend nourishes and supports breastfeeding mums to help you get the nutrients and energy you need. It not only tastes delicious but is packed full of 100% pure wholefood vitamins and minerals, Traditional Chinese medicine herbs, plant protein, super greens plus superfoods traditionally used to support longer-lasting energy, mood, hormone regulation, sleep, immunity and a healthy milk supply.
4. The Bare Mum Bralette is a comfortable, soft and supportive. A perfect breastfeeding bra with easy access without clips and uncomfortable clasps at the back. It is moisture wicking and has inner openings to perfectly fit the Bare Mum warm and cool inserts.
5. The Bare Mum Warm and Cool Inserts are designed to sit around the nipple to support milk flow or soothe inflammation. They are beautiful, smell lovely and fit perfectly into the bare mum bralette. They are also perfect for bumps and knocks on little people as they grow and explore.
6. I’ve loved the Being Skincare Boobie Balm for years even when I haven’t been breastfeeding. It is perfect for soothing cracked or sore nipples especially in those early weeks.
7. The new Mammae Silver Nipple Cups with the Aloe Infused Hydrogel Adhesives are an incredible tool for breastfeeding mamas. Silver cups help soothe, heal and prevent nipple damage between feeds and the adhesive disks help hold them in place so they don’t slip around in your bra and you can wear them while embracing important skin to skin with babe. They can also be refrigerated to cool the area where inflammation has occurred.
8. The Haaka Suction Pump is my go to breast pump. It is silent, works like magic and is such a great way to build a stash of milk without the effort and time involved with pumping.
9. The Haaka Collector is such a clever invention and a great alternative to breast pads in those early weeks when you don’t want to waste any milk. It fits perfectly into your bra and doesn’t run the risk of being kicked off by baby like the suction pump.
10. Last month we launched our new recipe ebook One Handed Bites for Postpartum and Beyond and it is full of delicious and nourishing one handed snacks that are perfect for breastfeeding mamas.
